Kitchenette
opened ten years ago in a tiny, 11-stool luncheonette and, because of its enormous popularity, it quickly outgrew its space and moved into a new and bigger location across the street. Through all this, Kitchenette has managed to keep its charm and homey atmosphere at this bigger location (though it is still considered small by most standards). Kitchenette now thrives as one of Tribeca's most charming and delicious eateries.

In April of 2001, Owners Ann Nickinson and Lisa Hall opened Uptown Kitchenette in Manhattan's new trendy neighborhood, Soha. They were met with instant success. This version of their "country in the city" restaurant is a much grander version of their original concept. It includes a bakery and café area where a greatly expanded list of their notoriously sinful baked goods can be bought by the piece or whole with just a moments notice. If you've loved the downtown restaurant, stop by at the new location-it's a sure bet to please you as much as the original.

Kitchenette has grown from its tiny beginnings ten years ago to become a bustling cornerstone of hearty American cuisine. Touted as having the best brunch in New York City by citysearch.com as well as Time Out Magazine, it serves up stacks of mixed berry pancakes and fluffy scrambled eggs with melt in your mouth biscuits to neighborhood people, business people, and tourists alike.

The comfort food continues at lunch with hearty Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, or an oversized Turkey corn bread stuffing and cranberry relish sandwich with old fashioned chicken noodle soup. For those that want lighter fare there are plenty of choices too. Try a Tandoori Chicken Salad with roast red onions curried lentils and yogurt dressing or opt for a grilled Veggie Burger with honey mustard in pita. Dinner is served at Kitchenette Uptown. Come and eat fresh Crab Cakes with dill tartar sauce and you'll think you're on vacation in New England.
The Kitchenette cookbook is always for sale ($14.95) if you want to try to make some of their fare in your home. Catering has also become an integral part of their business. Whether it's a corporate or private function, Kitchenette is able to accommodate with original menus tailored to almost any budget.Holiday Season is fast approaching, Kitchenette is offering loads of wonderful homemade goodies as well and in house Thanksgiving dinner and all the fixings to take away for you to have a little bit of Kitchenette's home style cooking in the comfort of your own home.
